Heritage Controls

Properties which are listed as heritage items are identified in Schedule 9 of Pittwater Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 1993. Division 8 of this LEP contains special provisions which apply to any development proposals in relation to these listed items. These  provisions also require Council to take heritage into account when it is considering an application for development in the vicinity of listed heritage items.

The identification and listing of heritage items is an ongoing process.

As well as the provisions within the LEP, there are additional special guidelines for the development of listed heritage items, which are contained within Pittwater 21 Development Control Plan (P21 DCP) B1 Heritage.
