Draft Warriewood Valley Planning Framework 2010

The Warriewood Valley Urban Land Release Planning Framework 1997 was the original strategy document used by Pittwater Council to plan for and implement the Warriewood Valley Urban Land Release project. This document identified land that is suitable for urban development or other land uses and indicated what forms of development should occur whilst ensuring that development takes account of the environmental attributes of the land. The 1997 Planning Framework did not include the areas surrounding Warriewood Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) but in 2001 the STP Buffer Sector Planning Framework was produced and established the development capability for the area (known as Buffer Areas 1, 2 & 3).

In December 2009, Council commenced a review of the 1997 and 2001 Planning Framework documents and developed the Draft Planning Framework 2010. This Planning Framework will facilitate development of Warriewood Valley for the next ten years when it is envisaged the Warriewood Valley Urban Land Release project will be complete.

At the Council meeting of 1 February 2010, Council resolved to place the Draft Warriewood Valley Planning Framework 2010 on public exhibition. The public exhibition commenced 1 March 2010 and finished 1 April 2010.

As part of the consultation process a meeting with invited stakeholders was held on Wednesday 10 March 2010. Those invited were landowners directly affected by changes proposed in the Draft Warriewood Valley Planning Framework 2010.

Outcomes of the exhibition and meeting are expected to be reported to Council by mid 2010.
