Pittwater Economy

In 2000 the first economic profile for the Pittwater local government area was developed and provided information about the area's industries, working population and their transport habits.

It also identified that there were significant areas of data about the local economy that were not readily available and this became more obvious when the SHOROC group of Councils (Mosman, Manly, Warringah and Pittwater) produced the Regional Economic Profile in 2004.

Since that first report there have been a number of surveys completed to gather information about such economic issues as the mix of industry in Pittwater, the trends and changes, the leisure patterns of seniors and the Home Based Businesses which have developed in Pittwater .

As the results enable council to create a more comprehensive economic picture of Pittwater, the opportunities and trends, growth patterns and needs of industry can be addressed in terms of planning for the area.
