Volunteer
The Coastal Environment Centre is a focal point, network and training venue for environmental volunteers on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Our volunteers are active across a wide range of projects, lending their skills and time to benefit the ecological sustainability of the local Pittwater area. Community action for the environment includes:
Helping out at the Centre
- leading workshops, walks and talks
- working in the CEC's reference library
- working in the CEC's bushland garden
- assisting environmental education staff with fieldtrips and programs
Protection and rehabilitation of coastal environments and aquatic habitats
- protecting intertidal areas
- planting wildlife corridors
- monitoring wildlife populations
- regenerating bushland remnants
- sampling water quality in local creeks
