School Programs

One of our core roles is environmental education for schools. We work both with local schools from the Northern Beaches, and with schools from across the Sydney metropolitan area. In some cases, we can come to you as an incursion, or you can bring your class to the coast and learn hands-on in the field.

Curriculum - linked excursions for years K-12

Visiting classes have easy access to freshwater creeks, sand dunes, headlands, rock platforms, the ocean, urban bushland and wetlands where students are taught hands on about local ecosystems, coastal managment issues and flora and fauna of the area. We discuss the impacts that people have on their surroundings and how to better manage our coastal environment for sustainability.

All programs are led by highly qualified and experienced teachers. Programs are developed to meet the requirements of the school curriculum, and are informative and fun. Classes can be adapted to meet specific school requirements and we provide all worksheets and field equipment.
