Coastal Reference Library
The Coastal Environment Centre includes a specialist environmental reference library which is open to the public. It includes books, journals, newsletters, maps, slides and photographs, CD-ROMS, videos and DVD's and internet access.
The collection includes infomation on coastal management, climate change, energy efficiency, ecology and biodiversity conservation, flora and fauna, weeds, reserves and protected areas, cultural heritage, geology and earth science, environmental protection and policy, pollution and land management. The collection is particularly strong in in the subjects of coastal management in general and is strengthening its collection in relation to sustainability and climate change.
The CEC has one of the best collections of local environmental information available on Northern Beaches ecosystems, particularly Narrabeen Lagoon and Pittwater's Bushland Reserves.
The library is open to the public during office hours - 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Access to online catalogue - for CEC only make sure to select Coastal Environment Centre in the Optional Search Filter (default is All Locations).
