Community profile

Looking for facts and figures about the Pittwater Area?

The Pittwater Council community profile is designed to inform community groups, Council, investors, business, students and the general public. To achieve this, the profile is formatted to present the data in simple, clear tables and charts with concise factual commentary.

The last Census was conducted in 2011.  Profile.id has been engaged by Council to provide yearly demographic projections.  Click on the link below to access demographic analysis based on results from the Census.

Pittwater Economic Profile

Pittwater Council area economic profile draws on a variety of economic data sources to profile the characteristics of the local economy, how it compares to other areas and how it is changing.  It enables users to accurately describe the economy, explore linkages across the economy and promote the region.

Shoroc Economic Profile

The Economic Profile provides regional economic data for the council areas of Warringah, Pittwater, Manly and Mosman. Based on key ABS information, the profile enables business and the public to research key economic statistics for the region. The profile also uses an input-output model to depict the inter-industry relationships in the regional economy and show the relative economic value of different industry types.  You may also like to visit our Business in Pittwater website for further information on doing business locally.

Community Atlas

Based on data from the 2011 Census of Population and Housing (Australian Bureau of Statistics), each map is prepared using Census Collector Districts providing the finest level of detail to help identify spatial patterns and trends in the Council.

The Community Atlas includes key socio-demographic characteristics for the Pittwater Council presented as interactive maps.

NSW Department of Planning & Environment - Population Projections

The Department of Planning and Environment uses population, household and dwelling projections to help plan for service and infrastructure delivery for the community.

These projections also provide a framework for assessing future requirements for residential and commercial land, housing and public utilities.

The 2014 NSW population, household and dwelling projections give detailed information on how our population is expected to change over the next 20 years, and the expected impact of these changes on households and demand for dwellings.

Projection data for NSW is available to the year 2041.  Data for Regional NSW, Sydney, Illawarra, Lower Hunter & Central Coast, and all Local Government Areas (LGA) is available to the year 2031.
