Property Engravers

Help to reduce the risk of your personal property being stolen. Ensure that it is easily identifiable and engraved. Engrave all your electrical equipment and other property with your drivers licence number prefixed by NSW.

Engravers can be borrowed from Mona Vale and Avalon Library. Keeping accurate records of all your property will deter thieves and give the police a better chance of locating your property.

Supporting Safe Partying Strategies to Protect Young People

SHOROC Councils (representing Mosman, Manly, Warringah and Pittwater) and with Clubs NSW are working together to increase the awareness amongst young people and their parents about their responsibilities for safe partying.

The "No Regrets Safe Party Tips" Booklet was launched by Mayor Alex McTaggart at the Pittwater Youth Forum on Thursday 10 November 2005. It has been distributed to school leavers and young people throughout the region.

Councils in association with Clubs NSW, are promoting strategies for teenagers and parents to create safer environments for young people to celebrate.

Parties can be fun and exciting and also a great way for young people to relax and enjoy themselves. Sometimes parties can get out of hand and become unsafe. By being organised and following a few simple tips you can host a party that is enjoyable and fun.

Download the "No Regrets Safe Party Tips" booklet or you can collect a copy from the Pittwater Council Customer Service Centres and also "Register your party with the Police"

SHOROC Safe Communities

The Safe Communities Program is an international program of World Health Organisation (W.H.O). The goal of the Safe Communities Program is to reduce the incidence of injury by developing community based approaches to injury prevention. Under the umbrella of safe communities the SHOROC regional councils of Mosman, Manly, Warringah and Pittwater have developed some key projects. They cover personal safety, road safety, child safety, sports injury prevention, falls prevention among seniors, water safety and fire safety.

In 1998, SHOROC was successful in becoming accredited as a World Health Organisation (WHO) Safe Community. SHOROC is currently reapplying to be accredited as a WHO Safe Community.
