Health

  • Somazone is an interactive Internet site for young people that focuses on general health and wellbeing. It includes personal stories, a question and answer section and where to find a wide range of support services in your area.
  • Beyond Blue is an Australian site dedicated to providing information and resources on depression.  
  • SANE is an independent national organisation committed to improving the wellbeing of Australians seriously affected by mental illness. This site offers a wide range of information for carers, family and friends about mental illness. 
  • Reach Out is a comprehensive and interactive internet site for young people. There is information about the types of people you can talk to about your problems. There's even a place where you can 'scream' your thoughts away into cyberspace!
  • Family Planning NSW.  Young? Busy? Have questions about your reproductive and sexual health? FPA provides expert reproductive and sexual health services to the community through clinical care, health promotion and information services.
  • Headspace is the national youth mental health foundation. They help young people who are going through a tough time, helping thousands of young people get their lives back on track.
  • Young carers providing support to young people under 25 looking after family members who may have an illness, disability, mental health issue, or alcohol or other drug problem.

  • Youth Action and Policy Association (YAPA) is the peak organisation representing young people and youth services across NSW.
  • Youth NSW provides youth aged 12 to 25 with links New South Wales to Government and community services and information, a range of information for young people about getting involved in their community and a forum for youth participation and for government to hear young peoples ideas on a range of issues. 
  • NSW Commission for Children and Young People is increasing the participation of children and young people in decision-making that affects their lives and improving their safety, welfare and well-being. 
  • Federal Government's Australia website which contains links to australia-wide Youth initiatives, career advice and other useful things.
  • Bullying No Way. Working together to create learning environments where every student and school community is safe, supported, respected, valued – and free from bullying, violence, harassment, and discrimination.
