Community Reference Groups

Pittwater Council initiated four reference groups at the beginning of 2009 as an additional mechanism of Council to engage with the community.  A central focus of the reference groups is to assist Council with the review of Pittwater 2020 Strategic Plan.  Each group is aligned with the key directions of the Strategic Plan and their role is to consider issues related to the goals and strategic initiatives of the Strategic Plan.

It is anticipated that reference groups will bring forth the knowledge and expertise that appointed representatives possess about the Pittwater community and natural and built environments.

The four reference groups are:

  • Community Recreation and Economic Development (Key Directions 1 & 3)
  • Natural Environment (Key Direction 2)
  • Community Engagement and Information (Key Direction 4)
  • Planning an Integrated Built Environment (Key Direction 5)

Membership

At its meeting on 20 June 2011 Council endorsed the appointment of a new term of representatives who were appointed for a period of two years as a result of an Expression of Interest process.

Membership is comprised of members from registered community groups and community organisations operating in Pittwater and individual residents.
