Catherine Park, Scotland Island Conservation

A project jointly funded by the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority, Scotland Island Residents Association and Pittwater Council to help protect and conserve this 0.78 hectare bushland reserve.

Scotland Island is distinctive in that the native vegetation is all composed of Pittwater Spotted Gum Forest, an Ecologically Endangered Community. Native seed is being collected for revegetation along road verges where sediment and weeds are encroaching into the bushland reserve. Bush regeneration contractors have been contracted to undertake the works of controlling invasive weeds within Catherine Park bushland area. Catherine Park bushcare groups are supporting on ground works.

If you would like to help support this  project, meet the local residents and have the satisfaction of doing something positive for your environment, please call the Bushcare Officer on 9970 1367. All volunteers are welcome.
