Description

Native to Madagascar, Mother of Millions is a slender erect succulent perennial with stems up to 60cm high.

Leaves have a waxy surface. Flowers are red to orange tubes as drooping clusters at the top of the stalks, flowering May to October.

Dispersal

Colonies spread fast as many minute plantlets on the the circumference of each leaf are able to form a new plant, when leaves break off.

Impact on bushland

A highly invasive weed that prevents native revegetation. Mother of Millions can grow in most soils and can withstand extremely dry periods.
