Pittwater Environmental Foundation
The Foundation was established in 2006 to conserve and enhance the natural environment of the Pittwatwer local government area through the application of tax deductable donations, gifts and bequests.
Why donate?
About 33% of the of the original bushland in Pittwater remains in a reasonably natural or undisturbed condition. All remaining natural bushland is subject to encrochment, illegal clearing, weed invasion, feral animals, altered drainage and bushfire hazard reduction requirements.
Within Pittwater 38 species of plants or animals are listed as endangered or threatened under the Threatened Species Act. There are two endangered populations (Koala and Squirrel Glider) and eight endangered ecological communities.
The large area of bushland and relatively low population in Pittwater means there is insufficient funding from Council rates and occasional government grants to properly care for our very special environment. By donating to the PIttwater Environmental Foundation, you will be supporting Pittwater's natural environment. Your donation may provide necessary matching dollars required for a government grant! You will also gain a sense of wellbeing that comes from all voluntary generous acts, together with the pleasure of knowing your gift will support a natural environment that may otherwise be lost.
How can you donate?
Please go to Pittwater Environmental Foundation's website if you would like to read more about making a donation or would like to make a donation.
Thank you for investing in the future of Pittwater's unique environment.
