There are two types:

1. Coastal Closed Heath

Where in Pittwater do you find it?

  • Coastal dunes along all coastal beaches
  • Western foreshores
  • Governor Phillip Park

What plants dominate it?

  • Spinifex
  • Acacia sophorae (Coastal Wattle)
  • Leucopogon
  • B. integrifolia (Coast Banksia)
  • Lepto. laevigatum (Coastal Tea Tree)

2. Spinifex

Where in Pittwater do you find it?

  • Seaward edge of coastal dunes along all beaches

What plants dominate it?

  • Spinifex sericeus (Coastal Spinifex)
