State of Environment Report
The State of the Environment Report is a tool both for environmental management by Council and for the information of the local community. The report is produced by Council each year, and forms part of the management planning / annual reporting cycle.
The report compiles information from a wide range of sources. It details the current condition of the environment and identifies the issues that need to be addressed. These issues can then be actioned by Council programs developed to enhance, protect and conserve the natural environment. The report is completed by November 30 each year, for the preceding financial year.
Current SoE Report 2008
For 2007/08, a regional State of the Environment Report has been prepared for the SHOROC region covering Manly, Mosman, Pittwater and Warringah Councils. The regional report was created so the community could gain a better understanding of the state of the environment in a regional context. The report is designed to provide an accessible environmental reporting tool for our local communities.
