Mullet Creek

Two creeks flow into the main body of Mullet Creek. The southern part of the creek originates at the Monash Golf Club while the northern part flows from Mona Vale Road via the Westpac Training Centre and Ingleside Park. The two arms convene and form the main body at the escarpment below Elanora Conference Centre. Mona Vale Road and Powderworks Road form the boundary of the main body. The quality of water in Mullet Creek is greatly lowered by the heavy development and pollution in the sub-catchment. Landuse consists of farms, golf courses, residential, commercial and light industrial buildings. The South creek is also dammed at Monash Golf Club. The main creek flows through Irrawong Reserve where the flow is obstructed by large deposits of silt and sediment and prolific weed growth. Pollutant inputs from septic tanks and golf courses further contribute to the poor water quality.
