Narrabeen Lagoon Activities

The best of Narrabeen Lagoon goes on show

A new programme of activities designed to give residents the opportunity to experience Narrabeen Lagoon and its catchment has just been announced by the volunteer group, Friends of Narrabeen Lagoon Catchment Inc. The objective of the programme is to raise awareness of the issues relating to its environmental protection, by encouraging people who live in the area to experience its uniqueness and beauty first hand - often described by those in the know as “Sydney’s best kept secret”.

“We just don’t know how lucky we are,” said Friends President Tony Carr. “Very few cities in the world and certainly none in Australia, can boast 57sq kms of lagoon and catchment – so much of it still bushland – within its boundaries”.

Activities includes bushwalks and ecopaddles.

If you would prefer a Self Guided Walk, use the Narrabeen Lagoon Walking Map and Natural Features Guide.

These events are open to interested members of the public. For more information or to participate in any of the activities organised by Friends of Narrabeen Lagoon Catchment Inc, email your name and contact details to tonycarr@ozemail.com.au.
