Reading Champions
2012 is the National Year of Reading, giving a boost to reading and literacy with inspirational programs and events taking place across Australia.
The National Year of Reading 2012 is a collaborative project joining public libraries, government, community groups, media and commercial partners, and of course the public.
Mona Vale Library is looking for Reading Champions for the National Year of Reading. Our aim is to identify local Pittwater residents to champion and promote reading throughout the year. Reading Champions will be awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold status depending upon their level of involvement. Here are some ideas about what this might mean but we are open to your ideas and input too!
- A BRONZE Reading Champion will commit to promoting an enthusiasm for reading by writing book reviews or making reading recommendations.
- A SILVER Reading Champion actively encourages others to read and might commit to putting up a themed display in the Library.
- A GOLD Reading Champion will take responsibility for setting up a reading event which could involve working with local schools.
