Pittwater area has seven ocean rock pools and three still water swimming enclosures.
These are maintained regularly throughout the year with the summer period cleaning roster on a weekly basis and in winter when required.
NOTE: Fishing from Rock Pools is prohibited for safety reasons.
Council's ocean rock pools can be booked for swimming clubs, schools, surf clubs, sporting clubs and others. A Rock Pool Booking Form together with a copy of your public liability insurance is to be submitted. Approval of your booking will be sent together with an invoice for any fees applicable to your booking.
Conditions relating to bookings are:
- Current public liability insurance to be forwarded to Council
- Two lanes are to be left free for the general public during activity (approval does not give exclusive use)
- Booking is subject to pool cleaning roster
- Safety requirements are to be adhered to at all times
- The area must be left clean and tidy with no damage caused

North Narrabeen Rockpool
Located at the entrance to Narrabeen Lagoon with access off Narrabeen Park Parade. The rock pool is 50 metres with a timber boardwalk separating the main lap pool from the rest of the pool. It is situated opposite the Lakeside Caravan Park and has Pay & Display parking available. Note: A reciprocal arrangement between Pittwater and Warringah Council's allows for vehicles displaying either parking sticker to park at the carpark at North Narrabeen Rockpool and North Narrabeen Beach car parking areas. Swimming clubs operate at the Rockpool during both summer and winter months. Learn to Swim Program from beginning of December to end of February Change rooms showers and toilets are available. A cafe is located close by.
Mona Vale Rockpool
Located off Surfview Road northern end of beach. Pay & Display parking is available. There are two Rockpools - one suitable for toddlers and a larger pool measuring 30 metres for bigger kids and adults.
Located opposite the beach is Apex Park which offers electric BBQ's, picnic tables, shaded children's play area and children's bike path.Cafes are located nearby on Darly Street. Change rooms and toilets are available.
Located at the southern end of Newport Beach, the rock pool is 50 metres long with a natural rock platform as the floor. Access is gained from the walkway at the corner of Calvert Parade and the Boulevard or along the beach from the beach carpark. Change rooms and toilets are available.Pay & Display parking available.
A playground is located to the south of the surf club with large grass expanses and electric BBQ's. Many cafes are located close by.
Located at the southern end of Bilgola Beach. The rock pool is an 8 lane, 50 metre pool with concrete walls and floor. Bilgola rock pool provides all weather access for the disabled. Change rooms and toilets are available. Access from the carpark area off The Serpentine. Pay & Display parking is available.
This location a little more "secluded" than other beaches on the peninsula. A cafe is located on the other side of the car park near the surf club.
Located at the southern end of Avalon Beach. Change rooms and toilets are available. Access is from the carpark off Barrenjoey Road. Pay & Display parking available.
This area provides BBQ's, a playground, public amenities, and a skate bowl as well as a huge array of cafes located in Avalon.
Whale Beach Rockpool
Located at the southern end of Whale Beach. The rock pool is 25 metres long and access is from The Strand. Change rooms and toilets are available. Pay & Display parking available.
There are BBQ's, a playground and amenities at this location.
Palm Beach Rockpool
Located on the eastern side of Palm Beach at the southern end. The rock pool is 50 metres long and access is off Ocean Road. Change rooms and toilets are available. Pay & Display parking available.
On the western side of Palm Beach is the still side of Pittwater, providing boat hire facilities, seaplane flights and a golf course. Connecting the eastern and western sides of Palm Beach is Governor Phillip Park with electric BBQ's, picnic facilities, amenities, a playground area and a restaurant.
NOTE: Swimming enclosures in Pittwater are all tidal and usage maybe limited on low tides.
Located at the southern end of Paradise beach. Access is off the northern end of Paradise Avenue, Avalon. Limited parking available.
Taylors Point Baths
Located at the southern end of Clareville Beach Reserve. Access is off Hudson Parade, Clareville (north of Nowal Base). Limited parking available at the wharf and in Hudson Parade.
