How to Apply for a Permit

Complete the Commercial Street Stall Application Form. Ensure that plans showing estimated area of use is included. Submit Application Form and appropriate Application Fee to Council Council will consider each application on its merits and as per the guidelines set out in this document.

If application is approved:
Applicant advised of approval and appropriate fee. Upon payment applicant is issued with a permit which is  to be held on the location and produced upon request. The permit expires after the time indicated on the permit. 

If application is rejected:
Applicant will be advised in writing that the application is rejected.Application fee will not be refunded.Private use of the footpath will not be permitted.Council rangers will fine illegal use of public areas. If an application is rejected the applicant may reapply at any time with a new application form. Permit fees are due at time of approval and paid no later than one week before commencement All permits will need to be reapplied for after the expired period. Permits are not refundable.

The Permit

Upon approval of the application a letter of approval together with an invoice for payment of the fee for the period specified.  The permit issued is to be held on the site and produced on request. Permit Fees collected by the Council shall be held in a restricted asset fund for the respective Commercial Centre. The Council shall consider each year the allocation of such funds towards improvements within the Commercial Centre, in consultation with the elected Councillors, Chamber of Commerce and local community groups.
