Portable Signage & Embellishments on Footpaths
Council permits the placement of portable signs and or embellishments, in order to entice customers into the premises. Purchase of the item must occur within the premises (ie no trading on the footpath) with the exception of Market Days, special events where organisers have sought an exemption.
The placement of 'private' advertising/ directional signs including "A" frame signs in public areas has caused concern about liability and visual amenity. Council has adopted strict guidelines for the placement of any sign and or embellishment on the footpath area.
