Dog Exercise Areas
Pittwater Council has a number of dog exercise areas where you may let your dog off the leash. These areas are to be kept clean of dog faeces by users exercising dogs which must be disposed of in the dog litter bins provided.
Dogs must be under effective control in a public place at all times. Remember dogs must be on a leash when leaving designated unleashed exercise areas.
Non compliance of the Companion Animals Act 1998 Maximum fines exceed $500
Water Access
Water access for your dog is available at Rowland Reserve at Bayview.
Hitchcock Park - Careel Bay, Avalon
Located off Barrenjoey Road at Etival Street, North Avalon
A parking area is located on the left hand side of Etival Street at the junction of Barrenjoey Road.
Dearin Reserve, Newport
Located on the corner of Kalinya & Gladstone Streets at Newport.
Parking available in street only.
Rowland Reserve, Bayview
Access off Pittwater Road at Bayview. Adjacent to boat launching facility.
Parking bays as sign posted maybe used for up to 1 hour free of charge. This is a pay & display parking area.
The Water Spaniel - Amy will be at Rowland Reserve each Saturday & Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

Deep Creek Reserve, North Narrabeen
Access off the Wakehurst Parkway. This is a designated dog training area. Dogs can only be unleashed when conducting dog training sessions. At all other times dogs must be leashed. Dogs are not permitted over the bridge across the creek.

South Mona Vale Headland, Warriewood
Located off Narrabeen Park Parde and Coronation Street at Warriewood.
Parking available on the Narrabeen Park Parade frontage to the reserve.
Progress Park, North Narrabeen
Located along Garden Street at North Narrabeen.
Parking available on the street only.
Mackerel Beach
Dogs are permitted off-lead, but under effective control, in the area between the Wharf and the most northerly house during the hours of 6:30am-9:30am and 5pm-sunset. Outside of these times dogs are permitted, on a lead, only for the purpose of moving between a vessel and a dwelling. Dogs are not permitted below the high tide mark. Dogs are not permitted in the water.
McCarrs Creek Reserve
McCarrs Creek Reserve is an off-lead dog area from Monday to Friday in the signposted area which is west of the main access road into the reserve.
