Emergencies and Disasters

Your first step in an emergency is to DIAL triple zero (000) and ask for Police, Fire or Ambulance.

If you are hearing or speech impaired DIAL 106.

Emergencies can occur within communities as a result of the impact of a wide variety of hazards, such as bushfire, flood, earthquake etc.  To minimise the consequences of emergencies it is necessary for a responsible authority to have in place an emergency management structure and set of arrangements designed to assist the community to prevent, respond to and recover from emergencies.

Pittwater Council has a statutory obligation through the establishment of a Local Emergency Management Committee to carry out emergency management as the responsible authority for Pittwater
