Drink Drive Prevention Projects

RU Over It?

Planning on having a big night?  Then think about what time you plan on driving the next day.  Alcohol can stay in your system for a surprising long time, even after sleeping, having breakfast or a coffee and/or a shower.

You may feel fine but still be over the limit the next morning.  Just because it is a new day it doesn't necessary mean your body is alcohol free.  And even if you are under the legal limit, fatigue from a hangover can be just a dangerous.

Remember that all Learner, P1 and P2 licence holders must have a zero blood alcohol level at all times.

Take the limit calculator at www.ruoverit.com.au to give you an estimate on how long you have to wait until driving.

Free coasters, posters and brochures will be distrubited to venues across Pittwater and Warringah to promote RU Over It?  Local bottle shops will be supplied with free wine bags with the RBT...You Won't Know Where...You Won't Know When drink driving message.

For more information contact the Road Safety Officer on 9970 1196.

Late Night Transport Information

Pittwater Council have produced the Pittwater Late Night Transport Guide so its residents can plan how they are going to get home before they go out.  The guide is designed to fit in your wallet, purse or hand bag.

The guide lists bus times, taxi information as well as local venues that offer a shuttle bus service for its members.  There are also handy tips such as Taxi iPhone booking applications and lists the websites of taxi companies so people can book on-line.

Residents planning a night out can have bus time tables for late night services home from the City, Manly or within Pittwater all contained in a handy wallet size card.
