Project Description
Graduated Licensing Scheme (GLS) workshops are held by local Councils to educate parents and supervisors of learner drivers. GLS workshops are an important step in ensuring parents and carers take the time to give their learner driver the 120 hours of driving experience, as required before sitting their drivers test to gain their probationary licence. The workshops offer parents and supervisors practical advice on how to help learner drivers become safer drivers . The course covers topics such as how to use the learner driver log book, how to plan driving sessions, how to deal with difficulties that my arise during driving practice and the importance of giving the learner constructive feedback. It assists them to teach their learner how to drive, and gives them skills to do it confidently. The workshop also raises parent's awareness of the importance of supervised driving practice.
