Roadways, Driveways and Footpaths

Road Classification

Council maintains local roads, regional roads and the footpath areas of classified main roads.

Pedestrian Cycleway Paths

Council maintains a network of pedestrian and cycleway paths throughout Pittwater.

Road Closure

Council allows temporary - full or partial - road closure for community events or approved construction.

Public Road Reserves & Driveways

Any work undertaken within the Road Reserve (ie. in the public area between property boundaries) must be approved by the Council prior to the commencement of any works.

Private Use of Road Reserve

For applications to lease or purchase the road reserve (nature strip) for private purposes

Stormwater Drainage

Stormwater in the road and the kerb and gutter system, generally flows to the Council's public stormwater drainage network.

Utility Services

Utility Services (communications/water/gas/electricity/sewer system) are generally located in the Road Reserve, either underground or as overhead cables, as in the case of communications and electricity.

Streetlights

Streetlights throughout Pittwater are maintained by Energy Australia.
