Pedestrian and Cycleway Paths
The road network in Pittwater currently consists of 271km of road and 81km of footpath/cycleways.
Council maintains a network of pedestrian and cycleway paths throughout Pittwater, noting that historically many streets were constructed early last century without the provision for a footpath.
Council's current strategy sets construction priorities for footpath and cycleway locations, based on locations adjacent to major roads, around schools, major community facilities and the commercial precincts. The footpath and cycleway strategies are to be reviewed in the near future through a community consultation process.
