Household Hazardous Materials Collection

 Used paint cans

At the recent Household Chemical CleanOut event at Mona Vale Beach on Sat 30 April and Sun 1 May 2011, 1993 people participated, with the total number of items collected weighing in at 79,945.7 kgs.

The most common items collected were water-based and oil-based paints, along with lead batteries, gas cylinders and motor oils. It's great to see Pittwater residents keeping these items out of landfill and out of our environment.

For the next collection dates, or for further information call the Clean Out Info Hotline on 131 555 or go to www.cleanout.com.au or email info@environment.nsw.gov.au
