Wharves in Pittwater
Pittwater has several wharves located around the waterway. There are both recreational and commuter/commercial wharves. Commercial operators wishing to use these wharves for pick up and set down points for their business must complete a Wharf Application Form. Please Note:
Re-fuelling of vessels is only permitted when a permit is obtained and the necessary precautions have been undertaken. Permits are available through the EPA and a copy of the approval must be sent to Council prior to operation. Cargo Wharf at Church Point is the only location where re-fuelling is permissible (other than at a Marina).
Located off Pittwater Road at Bayview. This is a boat launching facility that has ample pay and display parking, picnic facilities, amenities block and is adjacent to a dog exercise area and the storage area for large boats such as outrigger canoes and dragon boats.
Located off Pittwater Road at Bayview. This has ample parking, and is adjacent to Bayview baths and a marina.
Located off Pittwater Road at Church Point adjacent to Thomas Stephens Reserve. This has ample pay and display parking, amenities block and is the main commuter wharf for Scotland Island and the Western Foreshores residents.
Cargo Wharf
Located off Pittwater Road at Church Point. This is a launching area for bulky goods such as machinery and building materials for Scotland Island and the western Foreshore areas. Cargo wharf is the only one in the area suitable for use of transporting heavy machinery and goods/supplies to Scotland Island and Western Foreshores.
Located off Pittwater Road at Church Point adjacent to the Ku-ring-gai national Park. This has ample pay and display parking, picnic and bbq facilities, an amenities block and dinghy storage facilities. The area has a limited use dog exercise area .
Located off Harold Reserve, Richard Road on Scotland Island. This is mainly a commuter wharf with boat tie-up facilities.
Located off Richard Road and Vivian Street on Scotland Island. This is mainly a commuter wharf with boat tie-up facilities.
Located off Leahvera Reserve on Scotland Island. This is mainly used for bulky material deliveries to the island for projects such as building works. It also has boat tie-up facilities.
Located off Pitt View Street on Scotland Island. This is mainly a commuter wharf with boat tie-up facilities and swimming baths. Stop off point for Catherine Park and Community Centre.
Located off Lowanna Street on Scotland Island. This is mainly a commuter wharf with boat tie-up facilities.
Located at Mackerel Beach. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and a boat tie-up facility.
Located at Coasters Retreat. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and a boat tie-up facility.
Located at Coasters Retreat and nearby The Basin located in Ku Ring Gai National Park. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and a boat tie-up facility.
Located off Sturdee Lane at Elvina Bay. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and a boat tie-up facility.
Located off Normanhurst Street at Elvina Bay. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and a boat tie-up facility
Located off Bona Crescent at Morning Bay. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf.
Located off Bona Crescent at Morning Bay. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf and the drop off point for access to the youth hostel located at Morning Bay
Located on the northern side of Lovett Bay. This wharf is mainly a commuter wharf.
Located off George Street at Careel Bay. This wharf is a commuter/commercial wharf and is the main drop off point for heavy materials/machinery for the western foreshore areas. There is a marina adjacent to the wharf.
Located off Paradise Avenue, Paradise Beach, Avalon. This wharf is mainly a recreational wharf with nearby dinghy storage and swimming enclosure.
Located at the end of Taylors Point Road, off Hudson Parade, Clareville. This wharf is mainly a recreational wharf with dinghy storage nearby.
Located at Salt Pan Cove, off Prince Alfred Parade Newport. This is a pontoon wharf mainly for recreational use with dinghy storage and picnic area .
Located at the end of Queens Parade Newport. This wharf is a recreational and commercial wharf.
Located at the end of Yachtsmans Paradise at Newport. This wharf is mainly a recreational wharf.
Located at Pittwater Park ,off Barrenjoey Road at Palm Beach. This wharf is a recreational, commuter and commercial wharf with picnic facilities and playground area and ample pay and display parking and a regular ferry service to the western foreshores (including the Basin, Ku ring gai National Park) and to the Central Coast. There are also shops nearby.
