Sportsgrounds
There are a number of sportsgrounds located throughout the Pittwater area. Use of Councils reserves and ovals is not permitted without prior approval by Council. This is due to the fact that Council rosters maintenance work on reserves and ovals according to bookings and this can be potentially dangerous if there are tractors mowing lawns, or selective herbicide spraying with people nearby.
Sportsgrounds Locations & Activities
There are a number of sporting reserves available for hire in Warriewood, North Narrabeen, Mona Vale, Newport and Avalon. Sportsground locations & activities.
Application Forms
Sportsground Application Form must be completed and returned to Council's Reserves & Recreation Officer to gain permission to use a sportsground. Linemarking
Linemarking of sportsgrounds is carried out at the commencement of the sporting season. Additional linemarking is the responsibility of the allocated user or the school if required.
Boondah Reserve Field 1
With increasing demand on town water supplies, Pittwater Council endeavours to find sustainable methods of irrigating its fields and reserves. Currently the field is poorly irrigated on a manual, very labour intensive and inefficient basis which is both wasteful of resources and produces a less than satisfactory result for such resource input.
Pittwater Council will be installing a new automatic irrigation system at Boondah Park Field 1, Warriewood. The new system will utilise potable water as the initial water supply with future provision for a primary stormwater harvest supply.
The works are expected to commence early February and finish mid March. During this period the field will be closed. If you are a regular user of this field during this period, please contact Linda Ward on 9970 1360 (after 4pm) or Nikki Griffith on 9970 1355 (prior to 4pm weekdays) to arrange the use of an alternative field within the area. Pittwater Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks you for your patience and support.
