Overview

Bilarong reserve comprises open foreshore parkland, covered in grass with some stands of native trees and shrubs, which provide shade for visitors. The Reserve contains a number of facilities including the Scout Hall, picnic tables, barbeque's, toilet facilities and a small boat ramp.

The Reserve attracts many visitors primarily because of its scenic location, quiet atmosphere and ease of access. Historically the park has been used for swimming and wind surfing as the lagoon is considered safe for the public. The major attraction today is the use of the reserve for social occasions such as family and community gatherings and for passive recreation in a peaceful and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Council has recently completed significant improvements to the reserve which sees the construction of an adventure playground which incorporates a dry creek bed/adventure trail complete with rock sculptures of dragons and lizards.

A large climbing structure and associated playground equipment has been installed amongst existing stands of mature casuarinas which provide ample shade for the play area. Situated on the shores of beautiful Narrabeen Lakes, the reserve is a special place for children and families to visit.
